And we're back with part 4 of the 30 years war special! This time we look at the apparent cause of the war, at least in the beginning. We look at Bohemia, a lovely place, generally, and then analyse Freddy's decision to accept the crown of Bohemia, as well as Ferdinand's general mean-ness. Take a look!

Really enjoying this series of episodes so far. I've been wanting to read up on the 30 years war for a while. P.S. On your discussion of locations within the Holy Roman Empire, this is one instance where my obsession with the Europa Universalis series has definitely come in handy!

Hello, I love your podcast, I listen to the episodes again and again. I loved the parts about the WWI, but also about some other lesser known conflicts. Suggestion: how about a podcast about the Pacific War between Chile and Peru-Bolivia (1879 - 1883). I strongly believe your approach -that is, the diplomatic one- would suit wonderful in a war that, after all, was ignited by the rise of the tax on the exportation of nitrate, against a previous war treaty.
