I'm an English expat living in Sweden, and you're right about Gustavus Adolphus Day still being celebrated - Gustav Adolfsdagen - and it's particularly big in Gothenburg since he founded the current city (there were previous incarnations, but they tended to get destroyed by the Danes or Norwegians). In Sweden as a whole one does need to check, when seeing a Vasa-something or Gustav-something, which Gustav it refers to since Gustav I gets pretty much equal billing, due to his status as liberator of Sweden from the Union of Kalmar.

As a Spanish-speaker who is preparing to take TOEFL and GRE standarized test, I am just delighted for your use of English language. I can finally understand English words -such as turpid, piecemeal, alacrity- in context, which makes them easier to remember. Keep the good work, and I'll demand my right to buy you a cup of coffee at Starbucks if I visit Ireland.
